ECONYL – REGENERATIVE NYLON

Econyl yarn is a 100% regenerative nylon fiber made from nylon waste that pollutes the Earth, such as fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpets and industrial plastic salvaged from around the world. Through a radical regeneration and purification process, nylon waste is recycled back to its original purity. In other words, Econyl Regenerated Nylon is exactly the same as fossil origin nylon and has the potential to be infinitely recycled, without ever losing its quality.

In addition to being a solution to waste, ECONYL regenerative nylon is also best for climate change. It reduces nylon's global warming impact by up to 90% compared to petroleum-derived material.

Nylon and poliéster

Made from petrochemicals, these synthetics are not biodegradable, and are unsustainable. Nylon manufacturing creates nitrous oxide, a greenhouse gas 310 times more potent than carbon dioxide.

Like polyester, nylon is made from a non-renewable material (petroleum) in an energy-intensive process. It sheds micro-plastic fibers that end up in rivers and oceans every time it is washed, and since it is not biodegradable, it will end up in a landfill at the end of the product's life cycle.

Factories producing nylon and polyester without wastewater treatment systems can release potentially hazardous substances, including antimony, cobalt, manganese salts, sodium bromide and titanium dioxide into the environment.

Cosmos ( Cosmos atrosanguineus )

Chocolate cosmos are a species of perennial flowering plant, that originated in Mexico, also known as ‘black cosmos’ and was once known as ‘black biden’.
This plant generally grows to be around 40 to 75 centimetres (1.3 to 2.5 feet) in height. Chocolate cosmos are believed to be extinct in the wild, while many specimens today are clones of a non-fertile specimen, so those will not produce fertile seed.
There are many chocolate colored flowers available, but Chocolate Cosmos gets a special boost. It does have a lovely dark chocolate fragrance, and it is also one of the top 10 rarest flowers in the world
