BOIS

There are only two Bois Dentelle trees growing in the wild today, located in Mauritius, giving the species a place in the ist of the "100 Most Endangered Species in the World".

The Bois Dentelle certainly competes for the title of rarest tree in the world. They are threatened by competition from exotic species, including commercially grown guava.

The Ministry of Agriculture and the Mauritius Islands Wildlife Foundation took steps to ensure the species' survival and began to cultivate seedlings in a nursery.
